Style

Minimalist orchestral art, slow unhurried pulse; low male spoken-word samples flowing into crooning legato phrases, with gang-vocal shouts on the hook; sparse low orchestral anchors, a dark theme melody, restrained strings and deep bass; long dark reverb tails, spacious shadowed mix.

Lyrics

The balcony is cold tonight.

The neighbors left the porch light on.

I’m waiting for a green light now.

Before the morning comes along.

Your father holds the heavy keys.

My family name is like a wall.

But I would jump the garden fence.

Just to catch you if you fall.

We’re not a tragedy.

Just Romeo and Juliet.

Finding our own way.

Writing scenes we won't regret.

We’re not a tragedy.

Just Romeo and Juliet.

Walking out the door.

Leaving all the history.

I packed a bag and left a note.

Beside your coffee on the tray.

We’ll take the highway to the coast.

And find a place where we can stay.

Forget the roses and the thorns.

Forget the poison on the shelf.

I’d rather have you here alive.

Than be a story by myself.

Let them say it’s written in the stars.

We’re rewriting every single line.

Turning every bruise and every scar.

Into something that is yours and mine.

We’re not a tragedy.

Just Romeo and Juliet.

Finding our own way.

Writing scenes we won't regret.

We’re not a tragedy.

Just Romeo and Juliet.

Walking out the door.

Leaving all the history..... ♥️
