Cantorias of the Azores

[verse]

Songs to the challenge

in Fair Style , always in play,

the Cantorias are duels exchange

in the Azores, are here to stay

[verse]

songs from Minho or anywhere

in other parts of the nation

other forms of singing there

also have format of improvisation

not equal in the balance sheet

where the sounds meet

[Chorus]

Songs to the challenge

in Fair Style , always in play,

the Cantorias are duels exchange

in the Azores, are here to stay

[bridge]

[verse]

Songs to the challenge

Anywhere they will try to change

But it's the same in improvising

distinguishing in favor of balance

And in the way local’s are singing

You know it’s not from France

[pre-chorus]

in the Azores the Songs in the challenge,

are a way to create instantly the lyrics

the duel with words of the song in time

singers need to quickly interpret

meaning and respond in rhyme

[Chorus]

Songs to the challenge

in Fair Style , always in play,

the Cantorias are duels exchange

in the Azores, are here to stay

[Other]

The Songs to the challenge,

according to the environment,

based on the facts that each one

with personal flair

just the way they’re done

with gusto in every pair

The dynamism, the picardy

The stories of the regional

And mainly redundancy

good mood, its natural

are ever present benediction

In abundance in Portugal

and raise pride in the nation.
