PAINTED LIFE

Sunlight rested on the wooden floor,

soft through the open frame.

You leaned above your watercolor

and painted more than just my face.

Tea stayed warm beside your brushes,

flowers bending toward the light.

And for a little while,

life felt exactly right.

You painted me the way love remembers,

not the way a mirror would.

Keep me there in your watercolor,

where beauty never needs a reason.

Where happiness lives between two cups,

and colors breathe across the page.

Paint me beside you, unfinished,

with sunlight resting in the frame.

If I could choose where time should leave me,

I would remain inside that day.
