Winter outside...

Cold on the glass...

Funny how a whole city

Can feel like nobody's home.

Blue smoke stings my eyes,

Neon bleeding through the rain.

I walk these streets till morning

Just to outrun my name.

Wet concrete under sneakers,

Taxi lights cutting through the dark.

Every face becomes a question,

Every silence leaves a mark.

I learned to sleep beside the noise,

With the sirens as my lullaby.

Told myself I didn't need you,

Then I heard your name inside my mind.

I've been standing at the crossroads,

One road burns, one disappears.

Funny how the strongest people

Still get lonely when nobody hears.
