Hey guys 🖤 So those of you who have been following me and listening to my music for a while already know a little bit of my story, especially from my song REAL. If you haven’t heard that one, you can always go back and listen because it touches on some of what I grew up with. I’m not ashamed of my story. I share it because I know I’m not the only person who has been through things they didn’t choose, and sometimes life just happens that way right?

So my new song I STILL LOVE comes from another part of that story. I was placed in foster care by my birth mom, separated from my brothers, and I moved around between different families and homes. By the time I was nine, I really didn’t have one stable place that felt like mine. So when I say I was “Passed Around,” I mean I moved around a lot. There was hurt and abuse along the way too, and for a long time I was angry with my birth mom because I couldn’t understand how she could let us go. As I got older, my way of looking at it started to change. I realized being angry forever wasn’t going to change what happened. Even though a lot of it was painful and unfair, I also started to see that being placed somewhere else gave me another chance at life. That’s really what I STILL LOVE is about.

Things like that can harden you. They can affect your self-esteem, the way you communicate, the way you trust people, and even the way you love. Sometimes you start feeling like you’re not worthy of love, or you’re always waiting for someone to leave. It took me a long time to get to where I am now, but when I say “I still love,” I mean I still have love in my heart after everything. I learned how to love myself, accept myself, stop blaming myself, and let myself truly love other people too. I remember what happened. I just don’t live inside it anymore. 🖤🌹
