Style

Dark electronica, pulsing sub-bass synth and shadowed synth textures, slow lurching groove, close-miked male vocals with granular processing, restrained delivery, icy restrained production.

Lyrics

You keep circling the flame

Staring at its idle dance

Daring it to lick your finger

And to burn you more than once

I came to feel so much warmer than I meant to

You're way too complex for me not to resent you

Somehow I braced myself for war

But you just glided back (for more)

So unafraid to see what's in store

Embracing everything I abhor

My mind is sore...

I came to feel so much warmer than I meant to

You're way too complex for me not to resent you

Now you circle the flame

And I'm still in the frame

Now the frost and the flame

They are one and the same

Nothing frightfully bright

To wound the darkness

Nothing awfully loud

To disrespect the silence

'Cause the frost is still part of the picture

Only now there's a flame

It slipped into the frame

I came to feel so much warmer than I meant to

You're way too complex for me not to resent you

Now you circle the flame

And I'm still in the frame

Now the frost and the flame

They are one and the same

(One and the same)

Nothing frightfully bright

To wound the darkness

Nothing awfully loud

To disrespect the silence...
