ABOUT:

------------

“Chévere” means cool, great, awesome, or in this case “good vibes.”

Merengue is a fast-paced Dominican genre known for its lively rhythm, strong percussion, and nonstop sense of movement. It’s music made to feel immediate and communal, the kind of sound that naturally invites people to dance, celebrate, and let go for a while.

Lyrically, the song leans into that same feeling. It’s about escaping the usual worries for a day, heading somewhere beautiful with food, friends, palm trees, and the ocean, and simply enjoying the moment.

LETRA:

------------

che che chevere (che che)

no e un sábado cualquiera

Hora de disfrutar (che che)

Comida, amigos, y la marea

Salimos temprano a un lugarcito

Entre varias palmeras, un rinconcito

Tranquilo y hermoso, tal cual necesito

La soledad no siempre significa estar solito

Y vemos pasar las olas

y las horas

(che che)

Revivete (che che)

Ahorita no entran las inquietudes

Dejate (che che)

y sube tus animos a las nubes

La marea e ah e ah

Nos lleva e ah e ah

Nadando al horizonte

Entre playa y alto monte

La marea e ah e ah

Nos lleva e ah e ah

Nadando al horizonte

Entre playa y alto monte...

Revivete (che che)

Ahorita no entran las inquietudes

Dejate (che che)

y sube tus animos a las nubes

(che, che) chevere

(che, che) chevere

(che, che) chevere

(che, che) chevere

(che, che) chevere

(che, che, che) chevere

(che, che) chevere

(Che che) chevere

Un día de alegría

Soltando la agonía (che che)

Y vemos pasar las horas…

E ah e oh, E ah e oh!

E ah e (che che), E ah e oh

(E e E) E ah e oh, E ah e oh!

Y vemos pasar las olas…

Revivete (che che)

Ahorita no entran las inquietudes

Dejate llevar...

y sube tus animos a las nubes

Oh , E ah e oh, E ah e oh!

E ah e (che che)

Sube tus ánimos a las nubes...

LYRICS:

Che che, chévere (che che)

This isn’t just any Saturday

Time to enjoy ourselves (che che)

Food, friends, and a beach day

We head out early to a little spot

among the palm trees, our own little corner,

peaceful and beautiful, exactly what we needed

Being alone doesn’t mean feeling lonely

And we watch the waves roll by

and the hours too (che che)

We come alive again (che che)

Right now, no worries are allowed

Let yourself go (che che)

and lift your spirits up into the clouds

The tide, eh ah, eh ah

Carries us, eh ah, eh ah

Swim towards the horizon,

between the beach and the high pasture (x2)

We come alive again (che che)

Right now, no worries are allowed

Let yourself go (che che)

and lift your spirits up into the clouds

(che, che) chévere

(che, che) chévere

(che, che) chévere

(che, che) chévere

(che, che) chévere

(che, che, che) chévere

(che, che) chévere

(Che che) chévere

A day full of joy,

letting go of the agony (che che)

And we watch the hours go by...

Eh ah eh oh, eh ah eh oh!

Eh ah eh (che che), eh ah eh oh

(E e E) Eh ah eh oh, eh ah eh oh!

And we watch the waves roll by...

We come alive again (che che)

Right now, no worries are allowed

Let yourself go (che che)

and lift your spirits up into the clouds

Oh, eh ah eh oh, eh ah eh oh!

Eh ah eh (che che)

Lift your spirits up into the clouds...
